In April 2025, BASF and TE Connectivity further expanded the application of chemically recycled materials through their collaboration. The two companies jointly launched a new automotive connector featuring components made from BASF’s new Ultramid® Ccycled® polyamide, derived from pyrolysis oil extracted from chemically recycled scrap tires and mixed plastic waste. This innovative application demonstrates that chemically recycled materials can meet the stringent performance requirements of high-end applications such as automotive.
